Welcome to the Indoor Masters (over 35s) 5-a-side League

Thansk to all teams who participated, the Masters will be back in mid/late September 2008 and we will email everyone in the summer to inform you and see if you would like to compete again. We hope to extend the league to 12 teams in Autumn, so tell your friends about the league and try to get them to register with us.

Have a good summer, i'll see some of you in tour Summer competition and hopefully the rest of you in Autumn.

*IMPORTANT RULE - Following discussions with all the new managers we will be implementing a new rule this year to encourage teams to field masters players. Any players under the age of 30 will incur a one goal penalty for their team and also if teams field more than two players under 35 each player over the alloted two will also incur a one goal penalty.

I.E.

Oldman Athletic field: 4 players 35+, 2 players 30+, and 1 player of 25 they will concede two goals (1 goal for having a player under 30 and 1 goal for having three players under 35 rather than the alloted 2)

If you think its complicated, it is! So make sure you stick to the rules. Matt will be keeping an eye on you and will be making sure the rules are adhered to.

The idea is that all us older guys get the chance to run around after each other at a sensible pace, youngsters don't understand and tend to run fast.

League Info

Games will be 10 minutes per half (2 x 10 mins = 20 mins). Teams will comprise 7 players per match and substitutes can be made on a rolling basis. 5 players per team MUST be 35 or over, however 2 further players may be selected between the ages of 30 and 35.

There will be 8 teams competing in the next tournament and each team will play the others twice. Teams will play two games per evening over 7 weeks.

The cost to enter the competition will be:

Match Fees = £10.00 per match

Players Looking For A Team

On occassions we get individuals who have moved into the area or don't have like-minded friends and would like to get involved in our tournaments. Below you will find details of those players and we would like managers to invite these players to play for their team. You never know they might play like Pele or you might make a new friend!

I signed Paul and Gary for the Oldman Athletic team, both seem like great guys and are very good players too. We welcome you to the Masters league.
