Welcome to the renamed 'Furness Summer 7s' Football tournament website.
Welly Allstars have cancelled their fixtures for Tuesday 24th June within 24 hours of the fixtures, which effectively forfeits their games and awards their opponents a 2-0 victory.
Barrow AFC also failed to turn up without contacting Furness Football so their fixtures will also be awarde to their opponents 2-0, however their game against the Welly will be shown as a 0-0 draw with both teams scoring 0 points.
Furness Football frown upon team cancelling or changing fixtures as it affects the whole tournament and costs us money for pitch hire, any teams cancelling within 24 hours of their match will need to pay £12.50 per match to cover the cost of the pitch. In the cases last night, the Welly owe £18.75 and AFC Supporters owe £18.75.

Postponing Matches
21. Teams may postpone a match if they have extenuating circumstances and give at least 24 hours notice to Furness Football. We have kept two weeks with spare slots to arrange any postponed matches.
22. Teams may only postpone matches on one night. Any further postponement will incur a fee of £12.50 per match to cover the cost of the pitch and the game will be awarded 2-0 to the opponents.
23. Any team failing to turn up without contacting Furness Football or without giving 24 hours notice will be invoiced for the pitch at £12.50 per match. They will also suffer a 2-0 defeat to their opponents on the night and they may also be thrown out of the tournament and banned from all future Furness Football tournaments.
SUNDAY 22ND JUNE - ALL MATCHES CANCELLED
Due to high winds and storm warnings throughout Sunday 22nd June, Furness Football decided to postpone all the matches from that day. The matches will now be played next week, with an earlier start and finish time to allow people to watch the Euro 2008 final. Subsequent matches will all now be played a week later than oringinally planned.
Also next week we have swapped the two leagues around as 1 team could not play earlier due to work commitments. PLEASE CHECK YOUR FIXTURES 24 HOURS BEFORE EACH GAME!
We apologise for the inconvenience and we were aware that conditions did improve in the evening, but the decision was made at the height of the storm and was made for your safety and enjoyment.
Tournament Format
The leagues will be split into 4 leagues of 8 teams. (2 divisions in Barrow and 2 divisions in Ulverston respectively) 2 matches will be played per evening.
The top 4 teams from Barrow (1st, & 2nd per division) and the top 4 teams from Ulverston (1st & 2nd per division) will qualify to the Champions League play-offs and challenge for the Red Abbey Shield and be crowned Furness Summer 7's Champions.
Mid-Table Knock-Out Cup - sponsor this cup for three years for £30.00
After the domestic season it's still all to play for with teams placed 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in their respected divisions entering the Knock-Out Cup.
Wooden Spoon Play-Off Shield - Sponsor this shield for three years for £30.00
The bottom 4 teams from Barrow will contest with the bottom 4 teams from Ulverston for the illustrious Wooden Spoon Shield so there is everything to play for whatever your ability or form during the summer weeks. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Match fees are to stay the same as last year at £12.50 per match.
